World Floorball Representatives met in Prague
For the first time in history, floorball got the highest possible support for its international activities within the Erasmus + Sport program, almost 400,000 euros for a period of three years.
Now, for the first time since the start of the Floorball: Fit for Future project (4F) all its representatives have met in Prague. An intensive three-day meeting was on the agenda as part of a unique collaboration between eight federations, which aims to help selected countries accelerate the development, popularization and empowerment of floorball.
In terms of content, the Prague meeting had two goals. The first was to complete the clear structure of the main activities of a national floorball federation. "We managed, as the first team sport, to map and describe in detail what the national federation does and why," explained Filip Šuman, Head of the Project and IFF vice president, the common work.
"In addition, we were working on an extensive analytical questionnaire that will help with a detailed understanding of the specific functioning of each participating country. It took the federations several days to complete its first version, but the subsequent discussion showed how beneficial it was for them," he commented on the progress of the entire project.
And Carsten Provstgaard, Secretary General of Floorball Denmark confirmed his words.
“For Danish Floorball, participation in this project is both a networking possibility as well as an opportunity to measure our own maturity in order to make right decisions regarding the future development strategy.”
Next meeting is to be held in Copenhagen in January 2022.
