Successful Conclusion of Floorball:Fit For Future Project
n a significant milestone for the international floorball community, the "Floorball:Fit For Future" project concluded with its eighth and final meeting in Prague over the past weekend. Representatives from the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Slovakia, and Spain, in collaboration with the International Floorball Federation (IFF) and the Finnish Floorball Federation, gathered to mark the culmination of three years of collaborative efforts.
The meeting's primary focus was on creating a common framework for developing individual action plans for each federation. Discussions also revolved around strategies for expanding the project to additional countries and ensuring the continuity of the work carried out by the 4F project group. As Peter Zámečník, the Slovakian representative in the project, noted, "The meeting focused on developing Development Action Plans for each federation based on the analysis using the Matrix. Our association underwent analysis in 13 areas of its activities, leading to the identification of activities that need development for a more stable and even growth of the association. Based on this information, we created a Development Action Plan."
Over the last three years the Floorball:FitForFuture project, mainly funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ Sport program, produced five elements, including a "Maturity Matrix" with around 160 relevant activities, "Summary" defining areas of operation for Floorball Federations, and the "Development Action Plan" for each country.
Looking ahead, the results of these projects are set to shape the future of floorball at both the national and international levels. The commitment to ongoing collaboration and development remains strong, setting the stage for a new era in the sport. The implementation of the tools and strategies developed during these projects will be instrumental in steering the course of floorball into the next decade.
As international discussions continue regarding the project's future, details are expected to emerge following the ongoing Women's World Floorball Championship in Singapore. The collaborative efforts and dedication demonstrated throughout these projects offer a promising outlook for the continued growth and success of floorball globally.
